Moscow expels 24 Italian diplomats in tit-for-tat move

Moscow [Russia], May 19: Moscow has declared 24 Italian diplomats "personae non gratae" in response to Italy's expulsion of Russian diplomats earlier last month, the Russian Foreign Ministry said Wednesday.
The ministry summoned Italian Ambassador to Russia Giorgio Starace on Wednesday in protest over the hostile decision of the Italian authorities to expel 30 employees from Russia's diplomatic mission, it added.
The Italian diplomats will be asked to leave Russia within eight days.
