US forces in Jordan suffered a deadly attack, President Biden issued a statement

Washington [US], January 29: US President Joe Biden said on January 28 that three US soldiers were killed and many injured in a drone attack targeting US forces in Jordan.
"While we are still gathering factual information about this attack, we know it was carried out by Iran - backed extremist groups operating in Syria and Iraq," President Biden said in a statement. father, according to Reuters.

Mr. Biden's statement did not mention the number of soldiers injured, while CNN reported that at least 24 soldiers were injured in the attack.

The Pentagon has not yet released details about the type of injury, but traumatic brain injuries are common after a large explosion.
The deaths of the three soldiers mentioned above mark the first US military casualties in the region since the Hamas-Israel conflict broke out on October 23, 2023, according to Reuters.
Meanwhile, Jordanian government spokesman Muhannad al Mubaidin said on January 28 that the attack that killed three US soldiers did not take place on Jordanian soil but in Syria, according to Reuters.
