Geneva (Switzerland), Mar 22 (ANI): At a side event titled Human Rights in South Asia during the 52nd Session of the UNHRC in Geneva on March 21, experts raised serious concerns over the ongoing mega-development projects by China in the South Asia region. According to the experts, the projects pose environmental issues and cause climatic change, especially in the mountains. Former journalist, Myra MacDonald highlighted the construction of infrastructures in Gilgit-Baltistan by China. EFSAS Research fellow Tim Foxley highlighted the Chinese close ties with the Taliban Govt. He also raised China’s intention to explore oil and minerals from Afghanistan. Political Analyst Malaiz Daud Ashraf Ghani also mentioned China’s vision to exploit natural resources in Afghanistan.
