New Delhi [India], October 13: Agreement signed by Rear Admiral Aditya Hara and CDS Founder & CEO Er. Vinay Rai aims to encourage career awareness, discipline and a spirit of national service among young aspirants.
Career Defence School (CDS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Navy, under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, marking a significant step in its efforts to connect classroom education with leadership development, defence career awareness and responsible citizenship.
The agreement was signed by Rear Admiral Aditya Hara, representing the Indian Navy, and Er. Vinay Rai, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Career Defence School. The association is expected to create a framework for exploring mutually agreed educational activities and student engagement opportunities, subject to the terms of the MoU and applicable approvals.
For CDS, the development represents an important milestone in its mission to equip students with more than academic qualifications. The institution seeks to build an environment in which young people can develop confidence, physical fitness, teamwork, discipline and a clear sense of purpose, alongside the skills needed to pursue competitive educational and professional pathways.
Connecting education with the values of service
The association places a particular emphasis on helping students understand the Indian Navy and the wider Armed Forces as professional career options. Career awareness, informed preparation and an understanding of eligibility requirements can help aspirants make better decisions about their future, particularly those who may have limited access to specialised guidance.
Beyond entry examinations, CDS intends to highlight values closely associated with military service, including perseverance, integrity, responsibility and the ability to work effectively with others. Such qualities, the institution believes, are relevant not only to defence aspirants but to students pursuing careers across different sectors.
Potential areas of engagement include educational awareness, guidance-oriented interactions and student development activities. The nature, scope and timing of any such programmes would be determined through mutual agreement and in accordance with the signed MoU.
Founder's focus on character and opportunity
Commenting on the development, Er. Vinay Rai expressed gratitude to the Indian Navy for the association and described it as a meaningful step in the school's journey. He reiterated his belief that education should develop capable, confident individuals who can contribute to society, rather than focus solely on examinations and marks.
His broader vision for Career Defence School brings together academic preparation, physical development and character-building. The objective is to help students approach future challenges with the self-belief to pursue ambitious goals and the discipline to work consistently towards them.
The institution has also pursued career guidance beyond its immediate campus community. In July 2026, CDS organised a two-day career awareness seminar across Leh and Kargil in Ladakh, helping students learn about admission pathways and preparation for institutions such as the National Defence Academy (NDA) and Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). The initiative, reported by the Union Territory of Ladakh administration, included discussions on competitive examinations, scholarships, fitness and other concerns raised by students.
The Ladakh outreach illustrates CDS's wider aim of bringing credible educational guidance to aspirants from different backgrounds and geographical regions. By combining information about opportunities with practical direction on preparation, the school seeks to enable students to make informed decisions and plan their futures with greater confidence.
Looking ahead
With the Indian Navy association, Career Defence School aims to reinforce its commitment to educational excellence and the development of responsible young citizens. While specific future activities will depend on the agreed framework, the institution sees the MoU as an opportunity to deepen awareness of defence-related careers and the values associated with service to the country.
At its core, the initiative reflects a simple proposition: preparing India's next generation requires both academic opportunity and the character to use it well. Career Defence School says it will continue working to inspire students to lead with integrity, pursue their ambitions with discipline and contribute meaningfully to the nation.
