“How influential India is” Pak journos hail PM Narendra Modi post Maldivian MPs’ derogatory remarks

New Delhi, January 08 (ANI): There are no signs of an end to the ongoing debate of Lakshadweep vs Maldives which is hogging limelight. Now, Pak journos have stepped into the debate and some are impressed by PM Modi’s influential stature in the region. As PM Modi’s videos, pictures in Lakshadweep went viral, India’s beach heaven’s beauty made headlines. However, the sudden hike in Lakshadweep’s popularity brought ‘distasteful’ remarks from Maldives MP. Reacting to a post featuring PM Modi's visit, Maldives MP Zahid Rameez said that the idea of competing with them is “delusional”. However, later, the Government of Maldives cleared its stance as the issue escalated on social media. As there were reports of suspension of MPs over the issue, Pak journo Qamar Cheema was impressed with India’s influence. Another Pak journalist Aaliya Shah was impressed with the way PM Modi promoted tourism when his pictures went viral. Maldives may be one of the top tourist spots, but PM Modi’s vision for Lakshadweep has propelled UT's tourism prospects. PM Modi’s focus in Lakshadweep is to uplift the lives of the people through various development projects. The Central Government plans to make Lakshadweep a major tourist hub like Maldives. PM Modi Govt has infused more than Rs 1,150 crore to enhance Lakshadweep’s infrastructure.
